White paper - technical aspects of the floating flexi weir

An informal white paper related to the NSW government's plan to introduce a desalination plant at Kurnell. It investigates other ways of adding 500M/l per day to the potable water supply and comes up with a great idea - it seems at first glance like a crazy first pass but when you think about it the plan (called a "floating flexi-weir" (FFW) at sea level) proves that this amount of water is in reality only a small amount that can be achieved quite easily. All you have to do is start thinking outside the square. Conclusion: There are a lot of issues that need to be addressed before we commit to the worst possible methodolgy that will destroy the environment and cost the highest possible rate per litre. International planning document.
