The cognitive milestone is important to tenders because it describes a moment in the project when a concept that is important to the requirements of the client can be demonstrated to be complete. A list of cognitive milestones describes the key moments in the project for the client, the dates they will occur, when the client will be asked to "sign off" so that we can get on with the job because we know the client is happy up to this point. This list may be the same as or different from the technical lists of "phase/task" or "deliverables" and the financial list of "settlement" dates but it should always be stated separately because the client will understand this list the easiest.
