Leadership & Authority profiles

A detailed matrix describing seven possible levels of leadership (corporate, NOT co-operative) and their associated authority profiles. The profiles include the role of management, the role of the subordinates, decision making processes, implementation processes, evaluation processes and change management processes and associated legal documents for each of the seven levels. These days levels 4, 5 and 6 are preferred as they are more inclusive. Levels 1, 2 and 3 require less responsibility and are more authoritarian and have few legal requirements apart from a contract of employment and a Job description. Levels 4 , 5 and 6 are more professional and require more responsibility and require Code of conduct or Code of practice in addition to those basic documents. Level 7 is assigned authority and is used less often; it requires all of these documents and in addition may require legal assignment such as Delegation of powers by the board.
