Writing to the legal profession

This section helps in the preparation of correspondence. 'Address' in this section does not mean the address/postcode but how do we address someone; for example, 'My dear friend' is a form of address.

When do we use particular forms of address, such as 'Dear Sir' vs 'Dear John' ? Or what do we do when we are writing to a Judge or the Chief Justice of the High Court? When is someone 'Honourable' and when is someone 'Right-Honourable' ? Or when do we use 'Yours sincerely' vs 'Yours faithfully' ? Just download the template and these questions are answered for you by our researchers who are trying to ensure that, once we have answered this question once, it never needs to be asked again.
